NOMBE ROCKY HORROR

‘Rocky Horror’ marks quite the departure for LA producer/artist NoMBe. His steady stream of monthly releases have hitherto featured boppy and polished electronic/soul records, yet ‘Rocky Horror’ strips all of this away to its bare bones. And what beautiful bones they are – armed with just a guitar NoMBe delivers a haunting ballad inspired by the similarities he felt between his mother’s imprisonment and the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Explaining this further, Noah McBeth says: "Beyond a doubt Rocky Horror is the most personal song I've written and I ended up recording it in one take. It has flaws, but I was never able to get a better take than the first one. I dedicate this song to my mother, Mary McBeth, and to anyone who has lost a loved one to prison of any kind." When he’s back from touring with Bonobo and Alt-J, catch NoMBe’s debut headline show at Rough Trade in Brooklyn on 11th October. HM
